When Erin and Scott reached out to us to start planning their Moab elopement, we connected over our shared love for aviation. They both have family ties to the flight world and now Scott works on helicopters for the military. Once we started talking through ideas for their wedding, I mentioned our dream of flying with a local flight tour company here in Moab & landing on a backcountry airstrip for a remote elopement ceremony location. They were immediately on board and the plans fell into place seamlessly.
LGBTQ+ adventure couples session in the Utah desert! This was such a fun spur-of-the-moment session with our friends Brian and Sam on our Thanksgiving day adventures together. We hiked through a gorgeous slot canyon and then watched the sunset from an epic dune field.

With a fringe wedding dress, bridal hat, tassel veil, and leather bride boots, his elopement session is major inspiration for your bohemian western wedding dreams!
When Schadell and Jamaal came out to Moab, she thought they were just modeling for us in the East Gown from Rue de Seine in Canyonlands National Park. But Jamaal had a surprise up his sleeve, and when we started our sunrise elopement session he got down on one knee and proposed! She was completely caught off guard, it was the sweetest moment!
Javi and Ines we’re in love with their wedding photos, so they decided to do a trip to Utah (all the way from their home in Spain!) to do an adventure elopement portrait session with us. We chose to do their photo session in Canyonlands National Park because of the huge sweeping views and dramatic cliff edges.
Mountains & Glaciers in Alaska & Beyond
We took some one year anniversary wedding portraits for our friends Brian and Sam in Yosemite because it’s such a magical place to them.
Alaska is one of the most adventurous places to have a destination elopement wedding. We helped Ashlee and JJ plan their elopement here in Alaska and it ended up being one of the most amazing days ever. We flew in a helicopter out to a stunning iceberg lake at the edge of Kenai Fjords National Park for their ceremony, a small picnic, and then we paddled with the icebergs.
Diana and Jace had a rainy, moody elopement day in Valdez, Alaska. Their day started with private vows surrounded by blue icebergs. Then we explored waterfalls and made our way up to Thompson Pass for their intimate wedding ceremony with just family and close friends.
The day after their elopement, we hiked onto a glacier in Alaska with Jace and Diana so they could share private vows. Their wedding portraits on the ice were stunning and by the end of the day, her dress was covered in glacial silt from hiking around the canyons.
For this Alaska Elopement Itinerary, we chartered a helicopter out to a glacier lake near Kenai Fjords National Park for their ceremony surrounded by wildflowers followed by a packrafting adventure with the icebergs.
For their adventure engagement session in Alaska, Lynsi and Louis chartered a helicopter out over the September fall colors, mountains and glaciers. We took their portraits on a mountaintop and on the glacier ice!
For Katie and Ky's small destination wedding in Alaska, we kayaked with icebergs, had their wedding ceremony on top of a windy mountain ridge, and then took a helicopter out for some wedding portraits on a glacier a few days later.
This elopement couple took a helicopter out to multiple locations in the remote Alaskan backcountry. Their wedding ceremony was in front of a waterfall, then they had a romantic picnic on a glacier, and they ended their adventure at an overlook surrounded by peaks. Then they read letters from their loved ones at sunset on the beach - it was the perfect Alaska adventure wedding!
Conditions have to be really specific for these big, beached icebergs that you can walk around & explore like we did with Rula & Brandon for their engagement session in Alaska! It’s so special to experience these rare, remote places with our couples and helicopters sure make getting to them easier!
One of our favorite things about incorporating helicopters into Alaska elopement days is how many different landscapes you can see in one day. These two got to land by a glacial waterfall, an icy slot canyon, and then on a high alpine ridge where the tundra was in peak fall colors. After that, we met up with our guide to trek onto the toe of the glacier and have their ceremony on the ice.
Hannah & Simon's intimate elopement at Dunton Hotsprings on a snowy winter day in Colorado. They started their wedding day with a sunrise soak in the natural hot springs, then shared a private breakfast, a small ceremony with close friends, went on a snowshoe hike, and then ended the day with a campfire and hot apple ciders.
We helped Ruchi and Zach plan their epic helicopter elopement in Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska. For their adventure wedding day, we brought their dog Pony, chartered a helicopter, and kayaked among the icebergs in Bear Glacier Lake near Seward, Alaska.
This surprise helicopter proposal in Alaska is one we will never forget! Bob planned everything out and brought us along to capture this huge moment in their lives. We started out at an epic iceberg lake in Valdez, Alaska, then took a helicopter to the top of a mountain for his proposal, and then flew to the face of Columbia Glacier for sunset portraits on a black sand beach surrounded by icebergs.
We photographed Jena and Kyler’s intimate wedding in a forest in Washington a few years ago and have stayed connected since. If you’re considering doing your elopement somewhere adventurous like Alaska, you should absolutely think about a helicopter flight seeing tour in Denali National Park! We took a helicopter out to two locations with incredible mountain and glacier views, and ended our tour landing on the Yanert Glacier for Morgan + Evan’s adventure wedding portraits.
Amangiri Elopements & Weddings
Mary and Richard's Amangiri Elopement was laid-back, luxurious, and adventurous. We hiked in a slot canyon, had their wedding ceremony on a desert mesa, and then they went horseback riding after a sunrise photography session the next morning.

Amangiri is a remote resort in the southern Utah desert that offers a luxurious experience surrounded by stunning nature. Dennis and Rachael had an intimate adventurous elopement in the desert at Amangiri followed by a romantic private dinner under the stars.
Day one of Debi and Scott’s wedding at Amangiri started off with truly one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve ever witnessed. We met up with them in their room and they spent the morning sipping tea, ordering breakfast in, and watching the sky light up. It was so vibrant that the surrounding mesas changed colors from their typical white pigments. One of my favorite things about Amangiri is how the buildings were designed to mimic and flow with the landscape, so it was especially cool to see the sunrise light have the same effect on the concrete structures turning the walls orange and magenta. After just a few minutes together, bathed in the sunrise light, we could tell this was going to be a beautiful and incredibly fun weekend.
Amangiri is a high end luxury resort in southern Utah. Jamie and Jin traveled all the way from Hong Kong with their family to celebrate with wedding portraits. Aman has 31 resorts all over the world that would each offer a unique and beautiful experience for a destination wedding or elopement.
