Laurann + Matt // McKinney Falls State Park Engagement Session

I know I say this a lot, but one of the best things about doing this job with Callen is that every session ends up feeling like a double date. I knew Laurann through mutual friends in college and we had met a few times, but never really got to spend time together until now. I was so excited when she reached out to us to shoot their destination wedding in Crested Butte, Colorado this summer because I've always heard amazing things about her! When a girl is loved and treasured by all of her friends like Laurann is, she tends to be a wonderful client and super fun to work with. After their engagement session at McKinney Falls State Park last weekend, I can confidently say my hopes ring true, Laurann is one of the sweetest people I've met and Matt is incredibly thoughtful, they're great for each other!

As soon as we decided to come back to Texas to build our van, I reached out to them about doing an engagement session in Austin and we picked McKinney Falls because of it's stunning waterfalls and clear water. I had been there a few times before, and even had my senior photos taken there (throw back!) and was super excited to shoot a session there. It was gorgeous and all the recent rains meant the falls were flowing! Matt and Laurann were total troopers about my sometimes sketchy ideas and the photos turned out beautiful! We were even lucky enough to end the session in a classic Texas bluebonnet field. It was perfect! We are so stoked to see these guys again in Colorado this summer when they get married on top of a mountain!!!
