chelsea + jorge's day-after wedding adventure session in page, arizona | antelope canyon | adventure elopement photographer

Chelsea + Jorge's post-wedding adventure session felt like a dream. There are some parts of it that I have to look at the photos to remind myself that, yeah, that actually happened. They both grew up in Florida, but decided to get married out west because they had always wanted to explore out here and figured their wedding + honeymoon were a great way to do so. After flying into Vegas, they had an intimate wedding ceremony in Valley of Fire State Park and then began an epic roadtrip around southern Utah and Northern Arizona. They visited Zion National Park, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and Grand Canyon National Park. They chose to meet up with us in Page, Arizona and do an adventure session at Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon, which are two places I've been dreaming of doing sessions at for a long time! We had been to Horseshoe Bend a number of times, but Antelope Canyon was all new to us and it felt like such a treat to be exploring it with these two.

If you missed it, here are the photos from our sunrise session at Horseshoe Bend. After wrapping up there, we headed into Page for our Antelope Canyon tour. Honestly, Callen and I didn't really know what to expect going into Antelope Canyon. We had seen so many photos and heard stories, but there is absolutely nothing that can prepare you for what it's like to walk through such an amazing canyon. When we first got there, our private tour guide told us to follow her all the way to the end of the canyon so we'd have it to ourselves and then we'd make our way back which would allow for more privacy and an easier time getting photos with no one else in them. That first 10 minutes of running through the canyon, cameras turned off, weaving around narrow slots and dodging curves in the rock was honestly one of the coolest things I've ever experienced. We were in complete awe, looking up and down and straight ahead, constantly reminding ourselves that this is a real place that was made my water and stone. By the time we got to the end we could see the light coming through in the most beautiful colors and were all speechless at what we had experienced. Once we started taking photos I felt like I had to keep pinching myself and while it was some of the most difficult lighting conditions I have ever shot in (sometimes so dark my camera had trouble focusing!), these are some of my favorite photos ever. Chelsea and Jorge completely rocked it and were perfect at enjoying each other even when there were a billion tourists right around the corner :) It was incredible. I will say - if you are considering having your photos done here, make sure your photographer has a lot of experience shooting in low light, that they have good equipment with great low-light capabilities (I shot with a Canon 5D Mark IV), and that they have a wide angle lens (wider than 35)! This was a very difficult shooting situation and I learned a ton, but I'm so thankful we were prepared with equipment and that we came in with a lot of low-light experience so we were able to capture beautiful photos of Chelsea + Jorge throughout the whole canyon. Honestly, your best bet is to just hire us ;)
