allie + charlie

whimsical garden party wedding // the union on eighth // georgetown, texas

I first met Allie in a psychology class in college. Being an art student, this was one of the very few classes I took that had hundreds of students so I was relieved when I spotted a girl with a Younglife sticker on her water bottle! We quickly became friends, exchanging notes and rides home. At the time, I was planning our own wedding and just getting into professional photography and I remember Allie joking that I would shoot her and Charlie's wedding one day! I told her no way - that I loved second shooting weddings, but I'd never want to be a lead photographer (Ha! JB was right - never say never).

Allie and Charlie dated long distance through college. It was hard for them, knowing they'd get married at the end of it but having to live states away for years first. They wrote their own wedding vows and they laughed and cried through them, but there was a special moment when during Charlie's, he promised her "no more long distance" and man. That got me. The look in her eyes and the sincerity in his voice when he made that promise to her was out of this world. Weddings are really fun, sometimes stressful, sometimes eventful in ways you don't want them to be, but that moment when two imperfect people hold hands, lock eyes and say "I'm in for the duration" through sickness and health and richer and poorer, that moment is devine. It's the reason we love this job. Allie and Charlie, you two are amazing people and you're surrounded by an amazing community. We're thankful to have been present for this wonderful day!
