Our 2020 Availability (Updated 6/8/2020) | The Hearnes Adventure Elopement Photography | How to Book with Us

The Hearnes Adventure Photography | Our 2020 Travel + Availability (Updated 6/8/2020)

May 5, 2020:

This spring season has obviously been very uncertain and unexpected for a lot of people. We had a schedule of elopements and intimate weddings that all had to be postponed due to COVID-19 and related closures. Now that places like our home town of Moab are beginning to slowly open up, we’ve had a lot of questions about how we’ll move forward with bookings and what our schedules look like now.

Firstly, I want to say that our currently booked couples are our top priority (this has always been the case!) and when this pandemic hit the US, we worked with each of our couples to reschedule and adjust their bookings as needed. We’re so happy to say that we’ve been able to be flexible and come up with a solution for each of our couples so far, largely due to our boutique-style of booking a limited number of couples per year and pouring everything into those few couples! Secondly, we are aware that things are still changing rapidly, and we are proceeding with extreme caution when it comes to new bookings.

This blog post is intended as a reference, to be updated as things change, for any couples interested in booking with us in 2020. We usually book a few adventure sessions a month around our elopement schedules, but due to COVID-19, a majority of our elopements have been moved to the fall, opening up more than our usual amount of dates for sessions and possibly a few small (up to 5 guest) elopements, mainly in our home base of Moab (and SE Utah areas nearby).

Adventure Sessions

2 Hours | $4000

Perfect for engagements, anniversaries, or just because! These sessions are intended for couples in love who want to celebrate the stage of life they’re in. Adventure Sessions can be as formal as wedding clothes (like a pre-wedding first look session, or a post-wedding honeymoon session!) or as casual as the clothes you’d wear around the campfire. Or both!

Elopements

Starting at 6 Hours | $11,000

For some couples, the idea of planning a big party or coming up with a guest list of 200 people to hang out with all day isn’t really their cup of tea. An adventure elopement is such an incredible way to get married and celebrate your love in a way that feels more true to you. We’ve photographed elopements all over the world and our couples are always so glad they chose to do something that felt more like *them* than the big, traditional wedding.

We help couples plan their entire elopement from start to finish, like connecting them with vendors, helping choose locations, picking lodging, creating a timeline, and so on.

May | Moab, Utah

Various dates currently available for adventure sessions and elopements with up to 5 guests

Currently, Moab is partially open to visitors. Hotels and other lodgings are open in partial capacity. Camping is closed. According to the SE Utah Health Department. We live in Moab and have photography permits for BLM land, which is open for recreation to residents, day-trippers, and people staying in legal lodgings in Moab. The National Parks are still closed but we know of a lot of amazing locations in BLM land (that we often reccomend even when the NPs are open!). Dead Horse Point State Park and Goblin Valley State Park are also open.

June | Yosemite National Park

It’s complicated. We had been fully booked during our time in Yosemite from June 1-16, but most of our bookings have chosen to postpone to the Fall. At the moment, we still have a few elopements still booked in Yosemite in June that will go through as planned if the park opens in time.

If Yosemite opens for June and we are able to photograph the remaining elopements during that time, we will keep our camping reservations and be in Yosemite from June 2-16 with multiple dates available for adventure sessions and last-minute elopements. If you’re interested in possibly working with us in Yosemite in June, you can reach out now to get on our list and we will open dates to people on a first come, first serve basis. We have very high demand for our time in Yosemite and book up fully 6+ months in advance, but due to these rare circumstances we will possibly be able to serve a few couples during this June visit. I will update this post if the park opens and we are open for booking, but feel free to reach out to be the first to know and have a chance to reserve a spot.

Currently, Yosemite National Park is closed to visitors. We are following this site for updates.

UPDATE 6/8/2020 Yosemite has remained closed and our June couples have all postponed to the Fall, so we have no more availability in Yosemite in 2020

August | Alaska

Various dates currently available for adventure sessions and elopements with up to 5 guests

We are following this website for updates. Currently, visitors arriving in Alaska are required to quarantine for 14 days after leaving the airport. We will not still be going to Alaska if those guidelines remain in August, but at the moment we still have two elopements (with 0 guests) booked in late August and are planning to keep them if the restrictions on visitors loosen by then. Because this is still three months away, we are allowing a few more bookings during that time. Please see our guidelines below for how we are handing re-scheduling with booked couples.

September-December | Jackson, WY + Moab + Yosemite

No more availability. We are fully booked during this time and any remaining open dates are reserved indefinitely for our currently booked couples who may need to postpone due to COVID-19.

2021 | Our Travel Schedule Here

We are planning our 2021 as normal right now! We are not yet booking adventure sessions in 2021 (we usually book them up to 3-4 months in advance) but do have availability for elopements and weddings with under 25 guests. Rest assured, we have taken great care for our 2020 couples amidst COVID-19 and will give the same level of care and flexibility to our 2021 couples should it be necessary.
