megan + zach's adventurous woodland wedding in truckee, california | romantic rainy wedding day inspiration | lake tahoe wedding photographer

With how much we travel, its always really special when we get to shoot our couple's engagement photos and their wedding. It really makes for a special connection on their wedding day because we already feel like buddies going into it! We shot Megan and Zach's engagement photos at Lake Tahoe in February when there were huge snowbanks flanking the roads and we were post-holing through the forest! We felt lucky to get to return in August when the environment looked completely different!

Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful. From their amazing venue full of trees with a creek running through it to the stunning wild-flower inspired bouquets, everything was so perfectly them. Even as the rain threatened the summery mood, everyone came together and held umbrellas, dried chairs, and the cloudy skies made for a stunning atmosphere all day long. We all embraced the weather and their outdoor ceremony + reception was gorgeous. I have to admit though, my favorite detail of the day was their "best dog" Sawyer, the most handsome sweet boy ever. I had a hard time narrowing down the photos for this blog post, so enjoy their adventurous woodsy wedding day and if you're a bride worried about rain on your wedding day, let this assure you - weather is beautiful! I'm sure Megan and Zach would agree :)
