Vanessa & Henry’s Amangiri Vow Renewal

Vanessa and Henry’s family-centric vow renewal at Amangiri was one of the sweetest, most meaningful days. These two wanted to celebrate their ten year wedding anniversary in a big way, so they planned a week staying in Camp Sarika at Amangiri with their two kids. For their vow renewal day, I flew out from Alaska to spend time with them and capture their touching ceremony, as well as some family photos and anniversary portraits at Amangiri.
We spent the day exploring a few of my favorite sections of the resort, always admiring the unmatched architecture at Amangiri, laughing together and taking in the beautiful landscape. The mirror arch and florals set up for their ceremony in the desert truly blew us away and it made for such a stunning backdrop as they said new vows and celebrated the beauty of ten years married. After their ceremony, they walked among the rocks and soaked in the sunset until the last bit of light touched the clouds. Then we headed to a stunning little rocky outcrop near their room for a candle lit private dinner under the stars. It was such a beautiful way to end the day, just enjoying delicious food in a beautiful setting under one of the darkest skies in the US.
I often hear couples remark that they wish they’d done something like an adventure elopement or more intentional small wedding when they got married. I love that these two chose to celebrate their anniversary in this way, with their kids, in one of their favorite places. It was such a special day and I felt truly grateful to witness their connection as a family.
