I’m so excited to be sharing this blog post! When we first heard of Rez Bay Sailing in Seward, Alaska we knew we wanted to work with them one day. Being locals, we’re usually the ones recommending adventures and managing logistics for our couples so it’s more ideal for us if we actually have personal experience with the vendors, locations, tours and so on. We’d been messaging back and forth with Rez Bay to set up a sailing adventure this summer, and when our friends Mike & Daniela (one of our previous couples from Moab a few years ago!) decided to spend a few days with us on their trip to Alaska, I had the idea to bring them sailing! They live on Nantucket in the summers, so it felt fitting for them to do this on their trip to Alaska, and it meant we got to have fun out there as a group of friends, plus take some photos to show future couples what it’d be like if they went sailing for a photo session or as part of their elopement.
It was all such a last-minute plan, I ended up letting Daniela shop my closet for a dress to wear and Mike everything came together so perfectly. Seriously, this Sea New York dress looked perfect on her and fit the whole vibe so well! We had such a fun day and even got to bring Hyder along. The weather was perfectly sunny with a slight breeze and the water was SO stunning. This was our first time on a sailboat and it was such a cool and unique adventure!
Rez Bay Sailing not only offers half-day charters (like what we did, with their captain so we could just relax and enjoy the boat) but also rentals if you have sailing experience, as well as multi-day charters for further away adventures.
