Sunrise in the Moab Desert + Fall Wedding Portraits in the Aspens + Golden Retriever Puppy!

Devyn + Adam’s Vanlife Picnic Engagements in Moab | Devyn + Adam’s Yurt Adventure Session in the Mountains | Climbing Ancient Art Tower Wedding Session

Before we climbed the epic Ancient Art Tower with Devyn and Adam, we did some more formal adventure wedding portraits at sunrise nearby! These two are some of our closest road life friends and we’ve explored, camped, and climbed all over the Moab area with them! It was so special to photograph their wedding, and then to do a day-after session with them in one of our favorite places in the world. They brought their adorable puppy Bridger, and Devyn’s dress picked up some of the most beautiful #HearnesOmbre I’ve ever seen!

From our Instagram Post the day after their Moab wedding in the mountains:

“About two years ago, we were living in our van near Moab when Devyn messaged me on Instagram and said “hey, I’m Cassie’s best friend, so we should be friends. Can we cook you dinner tonight?” Cassie was one of our new friends and we loved her (and her now husband Chris) and I also love dinner, so we obliged and met up with some strangers in their van in the desert (not as sketchy as it sounds, in fact it’s a common theme for a lot of our friendships).

Well, let me tell you...Devyn made us the most delicious dinner that could make Martha Stewart look twice, in her VAN. I was kinda blown away. Like who are these dirtbag, van-living desert climbers that do things like marinade steaks and have a full spice rack in their sprinter?! And have a closet with hang up clothes?!?!

It wasn’t long before Devyn and Adam made their way into our hearts with epic meals and even better conversation, and really really fun climbing adventures. Now it’s hard to remember when we didn’t know them. From two week mobile van block parties, to warm cookies in Indian Creek, to beautiful hand cracks, SUPing the Merced in Yosemite, and skiing out to a yurt in the La Sal...our times with these two have never been boring. But this weekend has to be a highlight. Devyn and Adam got married in the mountains outside of Moab and it was so gorgeous and so much fun. And then today, we woke up before sunrise for some portraits in the desert where they fell in love and climbed up a classic tower with her veil on the whole way. It was incredible. I haven’t gone through the photos from today because I’m barely still awake, but here’s one of my favorites from their romantic ceremony spot...truly a hidden gem among Moab’s endless sandstone cliffs and canyons.

Devyn + Adam aka vanlife mom + dad, aka sports mom + trad dad, I love you two so much. I can’t wait to see what we get into next.”

And from the post the day we climbed Ancient Art with them:

“Our buddies Devyn and Adam fell in love on a climbing trip in the desert, so it’s only fitting that we capped off their wedding weekend with a classic tower send. Devyn decided to make it a little more spicy and climbed the whole thing in a long ass veil and the cutest little white jumpsuit! And Adam could’ve made James Bond jealous in his adventure bowtie. We have had a lot of fun adventures with these two, but yesterday was my favorite one yet! We are all tired and sunburnt and keep finding new bruises (chimney climbing with thousands of dollars worth of camera gear on your back is not for the faint of heart), but my goodness it feels good to be back in the desert! What an all-time day of world-classic climbing 😜 #HearnesTinyCouples

And lastly, I wrote this one about our sunrise morning with them and their sweet puppy Bridger!:

“*some people* might say that getting a puppy a few months before your wedding could add some unnecessary stress, but those people haven’t met Devyn and Adam 😉 Bridger was for sure the star of the show this weekend and he did so well, he’s already the size of his big best bud Charlie (and already better behaved 😅), and what bride could pass up the cutest little puppy paw prints on her train?! Devyn’s dress had some epic #HearnesOmbre from our desert adventures but Bridger’s little addition is my favorite 🐾
-
Side note...if you’re a climber you may recognize his name. Devyn and Adam are in Indian Creek as I post this, introducing Bridger Jack Jonash to his namesake and that thought makes my heart melt!! A true dirtbag buddy!”
