Rachel + Ryan’s Intimate Morocco-Themed Wedding at Inn of the Five Graces in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Oh my goodness, Rachel + Ryan’s Morocco-style intimate wedding in Santa Fe was such a dream! We usually don’t go outside of our travel schedule for weddings anymore, but we made an exception for these two! You might remember them from their gorgeous sunrise engagement session in Monument Valley, they’re still one of the most stylish couples we’ve ever seen (it helps that Rachel owns a vintage boutique!) and I knew their wedding would be incredible. They’re also truly some of the most kind people. We had so much fun with them in Monument Valley (and at breakfast after their session!) and knew we’d made two new friends, so when they wanted us to come photograph their wedding we just couldn’t say no :)

These two chose to get married in Santa Fe because it’s one of their favorite places on earth and means so much to them. Their venue, Inn of the Five Graces, looks like it is straight out of Morocco but still holds onto that southwestern Santa Fe vibe. From their website:

“Nestled on a quiet side street near the Santa Fe River, the Inn’s earthy, traditional adobe and stone exterior belies the extraordinary sensual experience awaiting visitors on the inside. Step through its doors, and a feast of color and texture awakens the imagination. Each unique room showcases handcrafted artisan pieces and one-of-a-kind treasures from the historic Silk Road that once linked Europe and Asia. Echoes of rustic Spain, lingering in New Mexico’s Hispanic heritage, are reflected in the Seret style’s trademark synthesis of East and West. Your accommodation with us will be memorable in countless ways, but we offer more than a luxurious suite. There is much to explore beyond the Inn’s walls.”

They had their ceremony at the Purple Adobe Lavender farm in Abiquiu (just outside of Santa Fe). Every little detail was so stunning and welcoming, their guests were treated to such an amazing experience considering nearly all of them traveled for this intimate wedding! From their site:

“Our farm is located in the beautiful Chama River Valley of Abiquiu, New Mexico.  Abiquiu is best known for the captivating views, mountain terrain and Chama River where the painter, Georgia O'Keeffe lived, loved, and painted so often.   Purple Adobe Lavender Farm has planted 2500 lavender plants, and, because of the terrain with its sandy soil,  high altitude, and intense sunlight, it is the perfect location to grow lavender.  Lavender grown at higher altitudes produces a finer, sweeter grade of lavender oil.”

Their reception was back at Inn of the Five Graces and every single detail from the cake to the tequila tasting and cigar bar was so perfectly “them.” We had a blast and loved seeing these two in their element, surrounded by the people they love most! But I have to say, my favorite part of the reception was the private performance from Kishi Bashi (one of their favorite bands!) for their first dance, and then a majority of their dancing music. The band started playing outside in the street (on the hotel property, so the street was blocked off for the wedding) and about an hour into their set it started to lightly rain. They simply covered their gear, unplugged, and moved inside for an even more intimate acoustic performance (house-concert style!) that absolutely made the night! It was such a sweet moment and I’m sure will be a favorite memory of Rachel + Ryan’s for years to come.

We had so much fun with this incredible wedding, and I fell completely in love with Santa Fe on our visit! I absolutely can’t wait until our next trip through this magical area.
