Snowy Winter Adventure Session in Moab, Utah

One of the absolute favorite things in the world is the first snow of the season in Moab! Most people don’t realize it even snows out here, but Moab is high desert and actually gets pretty cold in the winter. Some lucky seasons, we get a few big snow dumps that cover all the red rock with beautiful white dusting. It’s absolutely magic! We usually head out and explore some of our favorite familiar places after the new snow and I never get tired of seeing them in the new light. This particular time was so much fun because our friends Brian and Sam were in town visiting us, so we got to go out and enjoy the fresh snow with them!

We met Brian and Sam through the rock climbing community in Yosemite and they’ve become really close buddies over the years. We absolutely love when they come visit us in Moab, or we run into them on the road somewhere and get to spend time together. This visit, they came out to Moab to rock climb but it ended up raining and then snowing the whole time…so we didn’t get to climb but we did get to explore a lot, run a really fun canyon completely disaster style (we brought packrafts for the potholes and had Charlie with us, so it took 3 hours when it usually takes about 30 minutes 😂), boulder on the faux boulders north of town, and then enjoy the fresh snow before they headed out. We stopped on the trail to take a few photos and they had us cracking up the entire time. I want to do a longer session with these two one day, but until then…this 30 minutes of glory will have to do 😉
