Adrienne and Daniel’s Intimate Wedding at Amangiri in the Utah Desert

Oh my goodness, this was such a stunning elopement day! Adrienne and Daniel both knew from the beginning of their wedding planning process that they didn’t want the big traditional wedding day, they both preferred low-key, low-stress, and don’t really like being the center of attention. When they found Amangiri, a beautiful luxury resort tucked deep in the Utah desert, they knew they’d found the perfect spot for a destination elopement!

If you’ve been following our blog for a while, you might remember this post I wrote about Amangiri as a honeymoon destination. Amangiri is part of Aman Resorts, which is a world-wide luxury hotel group with a focus on intimate, unique experiences in each place. Each Aman property is inspired by the surrounding landscape and culture, which is obvious the moment you get to Amangiri! It’s located on 600 acres of unique desert, just north of the Utah/Arizona Border. Its quite remote — when you’re out there you feel like you’re on the moon, but it has easy day-trip access to a lot of amazing destinations like Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon (and various other slot canyons, including some on the property), Zion National Park, Monument Valley, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, and Bryce Canyon National Park just to name a few! With in house massage therapists, a yoga instructor, helicopter tours, hiking guides, via ferratas, horseback riding, a gorgeous pool, and a world-class chef, this place is truly the perfect blend of adventure and luxury, which we think is a great combination for an adventure elopement!

Adrienne and Daniel (and their adorable daughter!) started their wedding day with a slow, relaxed morning in their room facing the wild desert. We ordered breakfast in, and they got ready on their own time (benefit of elopements — no need for a strict timeline!). After a chill morning, Daniel got dressed and walked out to the reflecting pool so Adrienne could put her gorgeous Galia Lahav dress on (through all their travel she still managed to keep it a surprise for him!!). I could probably write an entire blog post on just this dress (those SLEEVES and the DETAIL!!) but I digress — Adrienne looked amazing. They shared their first look on the steps of the reflecting pool, and then we packed up for a hike with their friends! This part of the day was so fun — their friends had traveled from all over for their elopement, and…lets just say this wasn’t the type of wedding they were used to!! It was so funny hiking around and their friends saying “I can’t believe we’re hiking a mountain for your wedding day!!” :) Like music to my ears!

After their hike, we went back to Amangiri for nap time and a little lunch break before meeting back up for their ceremony nearby. We found a sweet little slot canyon that fit them and their small number of guests perfectly, and it felt kind of like we were the only people in the world. They exchanged vows, we took some fun group photos, and then everyone made their way back to the Amangiri lobby for cocktails and apps while we hiked to the top of the mesa overlooking the property for sunset portraits! It was so stunning and peaceful, taking in the views and all the amazing surrounding mesas and desert towers as the sunset in the distance. They ended their day with a beautiful dinner and agreed that they couldn’t imagine getting married any other way. It was such an incredible day!
